On this Tween Pups Socialisation and Obedience course we will improve their training and obedience, and give them a grounding in fun agility. This course is for fully vaccinated puppies aged from 5 – 18 months, including those who need their socialisation topped-up.
“Can highly recommend Chris and Helen for both their group training and 121 advice,” said Kath Kelly with 18-month-old Golden Retriever, Betty Boo.
The course is Covid-19 compliant, with limited places available, so you get lots of personal advice and attention, as well as receiving written tips and lots of video clips to remind and help you practice after a session.
The lessons last 1 hour and the course consists of 8 sessions. It is held on either Wednesday mornings (outdoors) or Thursday evenings (under-cover) at Solihull Riding Club, Dorridge.
Spaces are limited, so you get lots of personal advice and attention from a qualified behaviourist and dog trainer.
Socialisation techniques are shown to set your puppy and adolescent dog up for a lifetime of successful interactions with other dogs and to build confidence with people.
Obedience exercises include Touch, clicker training, and improvers Lead Walking, Waits, Pre-call, Recall, Dropping Items and Leave It.
It’s around this age that puppy’s clinginess wears off and a recall becomes more of a hope than a certainty, so we start teaching new methods including our ‘pre-call’ technique to prevent running off.
We will teach the pups basic agility skills such as going over jumps, crawling under them, putting paws on, and going along obstacles – improving their confidence and tiring them out, while giving you lots of fun things to practice together.
Once completed, you will be ready to go onto our Teen Pups Obedience and Agility course.

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 rules, only one person can attend per dog at the current time – this will be updated if the rules are relaxed.
